Mixing Styles and Shimelle's Fun Continues!

I managed to complete two layouts yesterday, in between playing with my grandson, doing laundry, and catching up on the banking. The banking was minimal, as we've been keeping little cash in our account until we're sure the person(s) that tried to steal our identity have moved on. What a pain in the you know what!

Products Used: Cardstock: Paperbilities - Patterned Paper: Doodlebug Designs (Boys Only/Puzzling Pieces & 3226 anyway) & Echo Park (Little Boy/Rock Star) - Letter Stickers: American Crafts (Amy Tangerine) - Star & Phrase Sticker: Echo Park (A Boy's Life) - White Pen: Gelly Roll - Paint: Apple Barrel - Sewing Machine.

Shimelle's Challenge #3 was to mix our style with a look we haven't tried. I admire Amy Tan, from Amy Tangerine, and wanted to give her style a go. My layout is a scraplift of her "Live the Life You Love" layout below:

This was a super fun layout to lift, and I had the best time doing it. I love the whimsical nature of her layouts and will try to incorporate that more in my style. Of course I almost always have to have journaling to tell the story, so that's where my style is mixed with hers.

Products Used: Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye (Follow Your Heart/Be Amazing-Be The Best-Wander) - Border Punch: Fiskars - Letter Stickers: Bella Blvd. (Sophisticates/Yellow High 5) & Crate Paper (Story Teller) - Brads: My Mind's Eye (Lost & Found 2/Sunshine) & Miss Caroline (Howdy Doody/Like) - Rub On: Heidi Grace.

I combined Shimelle's 4th Challenge with a sketch from the  "28 Sketches" class at Big Picture Classes. The challenge was to create a layout with yellow, grey, and one other color. My third color was teal since the My Mind's Eye products I chose used this color combo. I'm really loving the yellow/grey combo these days. I will have to use it a few more times before it goes out of style.

And lastly, I have to share a layout my middle granddaughter created last night. As I was working on the finishing touches of my layout, she decided she wanted to scrap with me. I can't tell you how happy this makes me when it happens. Once in awhile they will get in the mood and want to scrapbook.

I always try to print out extra photos for them in case they want to use them for anything. Love what she's done here. She loves her little brother, that's for sure.

Have a great day!
