Rain,
rain . . . . . . glorious, wonderful, magnificent rain! Where have thy been? We
don't get enough of the wet stuff here in Southern Arizona,so when we do, the
kids gravitate to it like a moth to a flame. My grandson was over this morning
and he couldn't wait to go out and get wet. Of course I had to get my camera
out and capture his happy play.
It started out as a soft rain. He took it easy,
catching the raindrops in the watering can. He was amazed at the
"music" each drop would make as it dripped into the metal can. Then as the
rain started to get heavier, it was time to get out our rickety umbrella. I really hoped
a strong wind wouldn't come up and swoop him away.
After he became "brave", he forgot
about the umbrella and searched for the water puddles. I put my camera on action mode
as he jumped with joy, splashing up and down with all his might. Once the rain
really started pouring, he went back to the safety of the umbrella, so he could take one last
look at the "lakes" that were beginning to form in the back yard.
Finally, after much prodding by myself, it was time to get dry and rest. And what's the best thing to do on a rainy day? "Craft", as Coen would say. I agreed with him. Of course, his "craft" had to involve more water!

Wow... you got more rain than we did!! It rained for only about 10 minutes while I was at work!! I loveeeeeeeeee the photos... tooooooooo fun!!!! And what part of town are you in?? ReplyDeleteWe need the rain here in North Carolina, Unfortunately the downsize of that is that Hubby doesn't work when it rains and since I am laid off and only working part time I am not a fan of the rain right now. But I do love your pictures though and enjoy looking at them. Reminds me of my boys when they were younger.

I would love to win some goodies, since I have put myself on a "no spending on myself" budget because I have so many friends with so many needs right now. Loved the pictures of your grandson in the rain. My kids, 16 & 18, still love to go out and stand, dance, whatever in the rain. We're transplants from MA, so we miss rain (but not snow).
