Working the Sketches

I'm still plugging away at the sketches from the "28 Sketches" class at Big Picture Classes. It's really been keeping me busy. Something I noticed lately is that I'm what you call a "B side" kind of girl. I never really thought about it before, but I'm attracted to the "B side" of most patterned papers. Here's some examples:

Both of these patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye and are the  from the Miss Caroline collection. While the flower pattern is gorgeous, and the wood grain is great, I love the orange and teal "B Sides" more and would purchase it for that reason.

Two more example here from the On The Sunny Side collection. I love the "B Side" much more. Now there are exceptions to this rule:

This patterned paper from the  Nantucket collection from Pink Paislee, (called Clam Bake), has a great pattern on both sides. But I have to say I prefer the "A Side" on this one.

And from the same collection, (called Crab Cakes), I love both sides. So for me, this would be an absolute winner since I love both patterns. In fact, I used both of these patterned papers on a layout this week. I used three of the four patterns on the layout.

Products Used: Cardstock: Paperbilities - Patterned Paper & Misting Mask: Pink Paislee - Glimmer Mist: Tattered Angels - Letter Stickers: EK Success - Embellishments: K&Co. - Ink: Dew Drop Versa Magic - Brads: Recollections.

Here's another layout created for my sketch class. Again I used the "B side" of the patterned paper used.

Products Used: Cardstock: The Paper Co. - Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye (The Bright Side) - Banner & Lable: Echo Park (Element Stickers-Dots & Stripes) - Flowers & Brads: The Paper Studio - Title Letters: Cosmo Cricket (Tiny Type) & American Crafts Thickers (Dear Lizzy-Fantastic Foam) - Felt Loop Border: Queen & Co. (Felt Fushion) - Distress Ink: Colorbox (Charcoal) - Word Stickers: Heidi Grace – Digital Frames: Marie Stone (Sugar Plum).

What about you? Do you have a preference? I didn't realize I did, but there is a "pattern" to my choices....

Happy Scrapping!

  5. Interesting. I have to say I'm probably a 50/50 girl. I find myself turning over more and more but those a side wood grains would win my heart very time :-) I adore the double spread you've made - what a wonderful combination of papers.
