I created this layout for my "Heritage" album. It is an album that I am creating with the older photos I have of family members. This is my Aunt Hazel and the only photos I have of her as a young child and young woman. There is little to no journaling on these layouts, just mainly dates of birth and any other info I have for around the time period of the photos. After I am able to gather any stories about her as a child, I will tuck it away, either underneath the paper layers or behind the layout in an envelope.
"Double Take" at Big Picture Classes officially ended this week. I didn't get to make as many double page layouts that I'd hoped to create, but I was able to work on this one for over a week, (off and on), and end it with a bang!
This was inspired by a sketch by Nic Howard created for the class. I loved that I could take little snippets of memories and include so many photos on this two page spread.
Hope you have a great weekend. And keep yourself busy scrapping!

You did a great job with Nic's sketch & layout about your house - I took the original class but never got around to that one. I need to go back now after seeing your layout & try it!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie! You did a great job with both scketches. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I'm hoping to get in the studio this weekend for a little playtime :D
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful!!! I love love love that first one with your Aunt's photos and the tags!!! (I had an Aunt Hazel too--- and it was also my Grandma's name!!!)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the layout about your old home. I HAD to pin it, I want to do something similar about my homes!
ReplyDeleteGreat Layouts Debbie and I must try the sketch. I love that you are taking the time to make the heritage photos shine. That Hazel page is perfect.
ReplyDeleteYour style is so clean...yet always bringing in the latest and greatest. I enjoy your pages so very much.
You really rocked the Double Take with so many photos. Our homes are where our families grow and they do matter. Family tales need to be told!
LOve what you did with that first sketch ..and you have just given me some much-needed inspiration for a page (or two) that I've been putting off for my niece's 18th Birthday album with that two-pager!
