Let’s Get Sketchy is turning ONE, and to celebrate we are having a Birthday Bash Blog
hop. As you make your way along our hop
to visit each of our DT blogs, you will find lots of birthday inspired projects. If you have arrived here from Brenshevia's blog, welcome to the LGS blog hop!! If you have stumbled
across this by chance, and want to play along, then you can head back to the
Let's Get Sketchy site to start at the beginning and to start collecting your
Birthday challenge words. These words should be in bold letters on each of the DT member’s
pages.
I decided originally to create a two page scrapbook layout for the Birthday Bash. Usually for events, such as a birthday, I have more photos that I want to showcase on my layout. So I got onto Pinterest and found an awesome two page sketch by Cheri O'Neill. Here's the sketch:
And here is my layout using the sketch:
I used the October Afternoon/Cakewalk collection for my layout. With the exception that I should have used beige cardstock for the base instead of white, I am happy with how the spread turned out. The layout tells the story of our grandson's first birthday and showcases my favorite photos from his party, and that's what's most important, right? "How" could you not want to squeeze his cute little cheeks!
After I finished my layout, I remembered that I had a card kit that I had purchased at Walmart ages ago. I decided to dig it out of my stash and create some birthday cards as well for the hop! I used the supplies that was in the kit and also pulled a couple of other embellishments out of my stash to create these cards. The design elements of the cards would be so simple to recreate and make your own cards for any occasion.
Now it's your turn. Come and join us for the Birthday Bash challenge!

Birthday
Bash Challenge- To create any birthday inspired project from examples you see
on the design team blogs, and upload your project on the LGS blog.
If their project is a layout then do a lift of that layout. If it’s a
project of sorts, then do that project.
You can pick from ANY DT member’s blog project from the hop for your entry.
Also as
you hop along the way you will find clue words on each of the Design Team
member’s blogs. Once you have gathered
all the words they will form a quote related to our birthday. Tell us the
quote by emailing letsgetsketchy, (link to our email address), and get your name in the pot for an extra prize drawing.
The
winner of the hop will be randomly selected and will win a nice bag of scrap
goodies from Lets Get Sketchy. As always
there are rules for playing!
Here are
the rules for playing and winning:
1. You
MUST be a follower of each LGS team members blog and leave a comment on each
blog and;
2. You
MUST also be a follower of the LGS blog.
Please
make sure you visit the entire team today as some members are hosting
additional blog challenges during the hop and offering their own extra goodies
for you. The more you play the more chances you have to win prizes! All blog hop entries are due by midnight, March 8th, 2013. CST.
For an additional chance to win a prize, I will give one of my followers a little rak, (random act of kindness), here on my blog. All you have to do is leave a comment for this post by midnight March 4th, 2013 MST, and you could win this:
